Who It’s For
The Your Genes by Design newsletter and mini podcast is for women 45+ who are ready to go deeper than surface-level wellness advice.
You’re curious about why things change after 45 — energy, sleep, hormones, cravings — and you want answers that make sense for your unique body.

You just need curiosity and a willingness to explore how your biology can guide your path to greater well-being and vitality.
About Me
Hi! I’m Lauri Wakefield - Creator of Your Genes by Design and founder of Inspired Living for Women.
In 2022, a breast cancer diagnosis became a turning point that significantly changed how I think about health and prevention. As I navigated my healing journey, I immersed myself in researching key health topics for women — from menopause and hormone balance to cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, and cognitive health.
That experience led me to study Functional Nutrition through the MindBodyGreen Institute and pursue certification in Functional Genomics and Nutrition Coaching, where I discovered how deeply our genes influence how we age, heal, and thrive.
I’m not a doctor or medical practitioner — I’m a researcher, educator, and fellow midlife woman who’s endlessly curious about what makes us tick. My goal is to empower you with clear, practical, science-based insights so you can make choices that truly fit your genetic design — supporting your long-term well-being and vitality.
Through Inspired Living for Women and Your Genes by Design, I share practical insights, empowering perspectives, and lessons from both research and real life — helping women 45+ take charge of their health, help prevent disease, and create a vibrant next chapter without the overwhelm.
